Cape Brewing Company — CBC to most South African beer drinkers — brews on the Spice Route farm on Suid-Agter-Paarl Road, on the slopes of Paarl Mountain. It's one of the country's most awarded craft breweries, known for German-influenced brewing: its Pilsner, Amber Weiss and lager range are benchmarks of clean, precise beer-making rather than experimental one-offs.
The tasting room opens seven days a week from 10am to 5pm, and the Spice Route setting means a visit slots into a full day out — chocolate, charcuterie, glass-blowing and wine tasting all share the same farm, with Winelands views over the Paarl valley.
