LilyPatrick Craft Brewery describes itself as small, hard-working and honest — and the Packham Farm operation, five minutes outside Stellenbosch on the R44 towards Klapmuts, delivers exactly that. Owners Thea and Boeta De Koker (brewmaster) and farmer Frank Geraghty run the brewery alongside the farm's Gorgeous George Meatery, a butchery producing pasture-raised, ethically reared pork.
The formula is simple: exceptional craft ales, oven-fired pizzas and a farm atmosphere where, as the owners put it, those who arrive as visitors leave as friends. Hours run Tuesday to Saturday with a late Friday session to 8pm; Sundays and Mondays the farm rests.
